Please find listed below some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) we have received in regard to our customer’s worries. The questions also address some of the misconceptions surrounding carpet and upholstery cleaning and should be the questions you ask when employing a carpet/upholstery cleaner – the questions, their answers, and processes, below, are what separate the professionals from the non-professionals. Question. Do You Move Furniture?

AnswerYes, we will move most furniture i.e. sofas, chairs,  tables, dining chairs.  We will also place protective tabs underneath the furniture legs to protect the carpets. In general, we do not move beds as our equipment can usually reach underneath, nor do we move heavier bedroom furniture pieces. However, that said we will work with you to achieve the best result.   As a general rule, we will not move electronic items (TVs, computers, etc) or any ornaments within cabinets, books within bookcases, grandfather clocks, etc: we will always reserve the right to decline to move anything we are not comfortable with.

Question. What Should I Do Prior To Your Arrival/Visit?

Answer. We advise that you move all clutter or breakables items from the rooms to be cleaned-these items can easily be placed up onto beds, sofas & chairs for example. In addition, it would be nice to be able to park close to your home/ business in order to offload our equipment.

Question. How Long Will It Take My Carpets/Furnishings To Dry?

Answer.  Drying times for our hot water extraction method can vary, but you should consider between 2–4 hours. Moreover, drying times can be affected by weather, ventilation or carpet thickness. In order to reduce drying time we use air blowers to assist in the drying: In our experience drying times are drastically reduced with the use of air movers/ blowers. If we use our proprietary Nil-Dry-Time encapsulation cleaning method, drying times can be reduced to 30 minutes!   However, you and the family will be able to walk on the carpet with clean shoes within a short space of time.

(Note: Encapsulation ‘Dry Cleaning’ is more suited to wool or commercial carpets and is considered to be an ‘interim’ (maintenance) type of cleaning; whereas hot water extraction is considered to be a deep cleaning method.)

Question. Why Do The Prices Vary Between Carpet Cleaners & Why Do You Not Quote Your Prices On Your Website?
Answer. When comparing prices, make sure you ask a lot of questions (like the one you find here).  Our service includes a professional,  12 Stage cleaning process (see below) as well as no hidden costs or additional charges. Moreover, we carry out a full National Carpet Cleaning Association ( NCCA) quotation process: this includes a pH test on your carpet and a fiber test as well as answering any questions or concerns you may have. We are happy to work with our customers to correct any issues that may arise. In some cases, this may mean a complete second clean of areas of concern. Ultimately, we are not satisfied until you are and this is what allows us to stand out from our competitors and guarantee 100 % customer satisfaction. 

Every location we visit is different. One scam used by unscrupulous carpet cleaners is to say “This room is bigger, this hall is longer” and raise their price.  By asking a few basic questions, and taking a few measurements all your issues/worries can be eliminated. We will calculate the m2 area to give a quote that is both acceptable and competitive.

Question. Are The Chemicals You Use Environmentally Safe?

Answer. Yes, all our chemicals are non-toxic, safe for children and pets and biodegradable. We only use certified safe cleaning agents, along with environmentally friendly products upon request.  Neither do we ever use abrasive chemicals that leave behind harmful residues in your carpets’.

Question. Why Shouldn’t I Just Clean My Own Carpets?

Answer.  Yes, by all means, do it yourself. However, in our experience (and yes, I have been guilty of having used a hired machine in the past!) there is a huge difference in the results between a professional clean and the DIY hire machines. Our equipment, solutions, experience and proper cleaning methods are crucial to our carpet cleaning results. Moreover, we would ask you to consider the total overall DIY cost versus a professional clean- the additional solutions you have to purchase; and of course, your time and efforts to fetch, clean and return the item. There is nothing at the DIY level that can give you the cleaning results that a professional can deliver!

Question. Will Your Cleaning Help My Allergies?

Answer. Having your carpets’ and upholstery cleaned with our hot water extraction method removes the dust mites, dirt, grime and pollutants that your vacuum cleaner or the DIY carpet cleaning machines will never reach! This will always make for a healthier breathing environment. In addition, we have the cleaning solutions that are anti-bacterial and help in the fight to protect against dust mites, etc.

Question. How Long Will It Take You To Clean My Carpets?

Answer.  In our experience, it will take between 20-30 minutes per room:  This is obviously dependent on the amount of furniture to be moved, how soiled the carpets are and any necessary stain removal that needs to take place. A three-bedroom house would take approximately 3-4 hours to complete.

Question. What Is The Best Method and Frequency Of Clean Carpets?

Answer. Hot water extraction is the best method to clean carpets and this view is supported by all the main carpet manufacturers. In addition, it is our recommendation that carpets be cleaned between every 12-18 months.  This length of time, of course,  depends on a variety of other factors including the amount of traffic on your carpet.

Conversely, if your carpet has heavy footfall traffic, e.g. large households then you should probably consider cleaning your carpet at least a couple of times per year. When it comes to Commercial carpet cleaning, you may find the need to increase this frequency. Concerns like this can be discussed during our visit.

Question. Do You Use A Rug Doctor?

Answer.  We only use modern high powered (industrial-type) professional extraction machines; which far exceed a  Rug Doctor, Bissell or any type of domestic carpet cleaners.

Question. Do You Offer Eco Cleaning Solutions?

Answer.  Wherever possible we use eco-friendly cleaning products for the benefit of the environment.

Question. Will The Stains In My Carpet Come Out?

Answer  Depending on how long the stain has been in the carpet and what caused the stain and how it was previously treated will reflect if the stain is removable or not! Usual stains Coffee, Tea, Wine, and Curry all contain dyes that could permanently stain the carpet especially if it is wool or a wool mix. I have attended an Advanced Stain Treatment  Course which not all carpet cleaners have done, so there is a good chance of stain removal, however, no guarantee is given.

Question.  Do You Clean Caravan Interiors?

Answer.  Yes, we do, whether you have a  small 2 berth or large 8 berths we can clean the upholstery, carpets, and mattresses. We welcome the full range of accommodation: one caravan, static holiday home or a full holiday park.

Question. Do You Offer Stain Protection?
